Kaela Nicole McClanahan - born September 11, 2002, is  a beautiful, mixed race African American young lady. She is very strong, fast, and agile on the ice. Her story begins when she was adopted at the age of 4 months. Born to a drug and alcohol addicted mother and father, she was welcomed into her new family that is multi-ethnic. At a very early age she showed signs of extreme physical strength and determination. She joined dance classes at 18 months, private gymnastic lessons at 2 years, and private ice skating coaching at 2 1/2 years. Since then she has expanded her dance to ballet, tap/jazz and participated in numerous recitals. She is involved with a local agency specializing and runway modeling, acting classes, and regular auditions. But most importantly, she continues to train and hone her skills in ice skating with 2 private coaches and 4 group lessons per week at her local rink, Iceoplex Escondido. She loves participating in numerous ice skating competitions; the most memorable of which was taking a private skating lesson from Surya Bonaly while practicing for an upcoming competition in Las Vegas. Her dream is to one day perform in the Winter Olympics.
